This age has been really fun overall. Oliver's language development has continued to where we have a hard time counting how many words he knows and he can repeat almost any word. It's amazing to hear him saying so many words for the first time. This month he started saying names (Auntie, Izzy, etc.) and putting words together more ("bye bye, kids", "water great"). He still loves counting (can count to somewhere between 13-19 - the teens all sound the same at this point when he says them). We continued teaching him the alphabet with help from some alphabet magnets on the fridge and he can now recognize and say almost every letter. J and K sound alike when he says them and W is still tricky (he currently says "double"), but otherwise he knows them all.
He is still sleeping pretty well, but started waking up earlier in the morning this month (6 instead of 7). He takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon which is great. He's still a picky eater but has expanded his menu slightly. Favorites right now are strawberries, dates, pineapple, quesadillas, and of course crackers. Oliver at this age is funny, energetic, smart, and sweet. He loves giving us kisses and hugs and is always egalitarian in his affection (if I get a hug, Chris has to get one too). Couldn't love you more Oli!
The majority of this month we revelled in a very late spring, enjoying as much time outside as possible. We
did a little travelling, Chris & Oli spent a lot of time together as I finished up another busy semester, and my parents came for a visit!
