Christmas 2013

Oli (from 2 years ago) and Josie in the same sweater
We had a really nice Christmas this year. We got a beautiful big tree (a balsam fir) in early December and except for shedding some needles, it stayed looking and smelling good the whole month! We read Christmas books and watched Christmas movies with Oliver this year. Some favorites were The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and The Polar Express.
More photos to follow.

The next few photos are from Christmas Eve. We drew a picture for Santa and made and sampled chocolate chip sea salt cookies (Oli approved). We left Santa the picture, the cookies, and Oliver wanted to leave him spiced cider instead of milk. A tradition in my family is that we open one present on Christmas Eve, usually new pajamas. Oli exclaimed that his were "so cute!". Chris and I wrapped presents on the 23rd and again on Christmas Eve after the kids were in bed.

On Christmas morning we had cinnamon rolls and coffee and then opened presents. Oliver had a great time and pretty much opened presents for everyone. Josie slept and ate most of the morning. We spent most of the day in our pajamas and didn't even cook anything special. We missed our family but had a chance to talk to or FaceTime with some of them. Overall it was a low-key, but great Christmas.
