While we have been waiting for baby #2, we've been enjoying the fall weather and our time together. I'm working at home this semester so it's been really nice to get more time in with my boys.
We've been doing a fair amount of baking and Oliver has had fun helping out with the mixing, peering in the oven while things are baking, and of course eating the finished product. His favorite so far has probably been the chocolate chip cookies, although he has yet to try the pumpkin bread we made earlier today (first of the season!).
Last week he started swimming lessons at our local community center. His class (the fin buddies) is made up of infants and toddlers. Half of the class is structured and they do things like sing songs and practice kicking and paddling. And the second half is free play where his teacher brings out a big bin of water toys and they get to do whatever they want. He's had two classes so far and seems to really enjoy it.
Last week we took a bike ride in the early evening to Izzy's ice cream. We tried a new flavor, blackberry creme fraiche, and it was to die for (says the pregnant lady with a major sweet tooth). And for the Izzy scoop (small scoop on top), we got cookies and cream. Both were a hit with Oli.
We also went to a birthday party for one of Oliver's friends who also just turned 2. It was gnome-themed and they had felt gnome hats and butterfly nets for all of the kids. The weather was gorgeous and we just hung out in their backyard where Oli played with the tiny watering can, colored, jumped in the bouncy house, and enjoyed the m & m's out of the trail mix. Fall, you've been good to us!
Yum for the ice cream, cute swim pics..cute gnome party lol....
