Food in Amsterdam

We cooked some of our own meals in Amsterdam, but we ate 3 dinners out. Our first dinner out we chose Kartika, an Indonesian restaurant, which was probably our favorite. We ordered the Shinta, a vegetarian rice table. It was small plates of many different vegetarian dishes. It was so much food that we overate, but it was all really delicious! The second night we went to Bolhoed, an all vegetarian restaurant. We ate outside and had another great meal!

For breakfast we had stroopwafels and chocolate hagelslag (chocolate sprinkles) on toast, along with espresso. The coffee here was so good!

Our last night we decided on pancakes. We went to Pancakes! Amsterdam for pancakes and ice tea. The food was really good and the staff were friendly. The waiter took a liking to Oliver and gave him a little toy car.

Lastly, we got gelato twice because it was so good. My favorite was hazelnut but we also tried espresso, raspberry, and chocolate hazelnut. Overall the food in Amsterdam was delicious! We were hoping to try some of their fries, but didn't get a chance to. Next time!
