Montmartre

Sunday we took the Metro to Monmartre to see Sacre Coeur. Unfortunately Oliver came down with a cold and wasn't feeling well, but he was a trooper. It was really busy at and around Sacre Coeur for good reason, it's a beautiful church. After touring the inside, Chris said his three favorite things were 1) the light through the stained glass, 2) the gold in the mosaics, and 3) the designated "shh-ers".

Oh well, we tried!
After visiting Sacre Coeur we stopped for lunch and coffee at Kooka Boora Cafe. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside, trying to soak up some of Paris' cafe culture.

a veggie sandwich and a  pavlova - yum!
We wandered around Monmartre and stopped for some macarons and a baguette for later before heading home on the Metro.

In the evening we went back to the Luxembourg Gardens. We had a crepe and enjoyed lounging on the grass, studying our French phrases, and people watching.
