Museums and Goodbye Amsterdam

We went to two museums while in Amsterdam.  The Van Gogh Museum was our first stop. We had a pass that let us get in a shorter line and they ushered us to the front of that line because we had a baby which was great. Cameras were not allowed inside unfortunately. His art was shown chronologically and they also displayed art from artists that inspired and were inspired by Van Gogh. Great museum!

The other museum we visited was the Huis Marseille Photography Museum. Part of the reason we went to this museum was because the art is displayed in a beautiful historic building right on the canal.
The featured photographer was Chino Otsuka and her work on memory, place, and belonging. We really enjoyed her work!
Below is a photograph from a series called Imagine Finding Me. In these photographs, she inserts photos of her older self into photos from her family album of her younger self taken at the same place.

There were several museums we didn't get to because of the long lines or construction/closures. Museums for next time (I can dream): Anne Frank Museum, Rijksmuseum, and the Stedlijk Museum!

We left Amsterdam on Thursday afternoon and took a train to our last stop, Paris!
Oli's excited for Paris!
